The 80-20-0 Rule

Listening to Arthur Brooks this morning on Simon Sinek’s podcast, and he shared his take on the 80/20 rule – which I thought was worth sharing.

He suggests we use the 80-20-0 rule when making big, important life decisions – like taking that new job or not, or getting married to this person or not, or whatever opportunity or critical decision is before you.

If we are 80% excited about it, 20% fearful about it and 0% sure it won’t make us feel dead inside – then it’s a YES.

It’s the last part that really got me.

Worth a listen if you have the time.

Our experience through life is precious – none of it should make you feel dead inside.

Idealistic? Maybe.

But worth thinking about.

Thoughts?
