The “Aha” moment.

I had one in the car on the ride in to work this morning.

It was awesome.

It was sparked by a single word mentioned in a podcast I was listening to.

But the spark only works if it has something to ignite.

The ignition happened because I have been percolating an idea for weeks. I have been using frameworks and tools to flush it out.

I have been thinking about it on runs and hikes and while driving in the car.

It’s been in the background. Swirling around.

All that tinder – was ready to ignite at the right time.

That’s why putting yourself in position for “aha” moments, or insights, or leaps in thinking is so critical.

That’s why I listen to podcasts in the car to and from work.

That’s why I map ideas out with the business model canvas and other tools.

To put myself in position.

For the “Aha” moment.

For when the complex becomes simple.

For when that one piece falls into place.

And now you can move ahead.

What do you do to put yourself in position?
